Summary: We developed and validated a transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis score (ATTR-CM) score comprising of clinical and echocardiographic variables to predict increased risk of ATTR-CM in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) cohorts with variable ATTR-CM prevalence. This score may help identify patients with greater risk of underlying ATTR-CM that may benefit from disease specific testing."
Summary: In this prospective community cohort study, we screened patients aged at least 60 year old who had validated heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF, >40%) with Tc-Pyrophosphate (PYP) imaging to determine the prevalence of ATTR-CM. With a systematic screening, 6.3% of 286 patients (10.1% of men and 2.2% of women) had ATTR-CM."
Summary: In this invited expert review, we explore the modern use bone-seeking radiotracers (e.g. PYP, DPD, HMDP) for the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis. The article focuses on the performance and analysis of studies, potential pitfalls in the diagnosis of ATTR-CM, and the future of nuclear imaging in cardiac amyloidosis.
